Rotario - April 11, 2019 [1]
Dear Rotarians and Friends,
Thursday, April 11, 2019
12:00pm Lunch - Mindy Oberne and Grass Valley Free Health Care Clinic
Trolley Junction at Northern Queen Hotel
400 Railroad Avenue, Nevada City
This Week - Mindy Oberne and Grass Valley Free Health Care Clinic
Local artist and health care advocate, Mindy Oberne will present plans for the 2020 Grass Valley Free 2-day Health Care Clinic. United Way of Nevada County will be hosting the Free 2-day Health Care Clinic along with California CareForce in January 2020! Over a two-day period, hundreds of patients will receive medical, dental and vision services free of charge. Click here [2] for more information on how to donate to the cause or volunteer for the clinic.
Organizers say the estimated number of 1,000-plus patients is the result of an increasing number of people who lack access to proper health care. Organizers hope to ramp up fundraising, outreach efforts and recruitment of medical staff with the goal of doubling the number of patients treated at the 2015 event.
Last Week: Area 4 Speech Contest
Amina Federspeil-Otlea, a student at Ghidotti Early College High School in Grass Valley will represent Area 4 at the District Conference in Reno on May 18. An amazing group of intelligent, talented students who had been selected from local Club contests competed in the Area 4 Speech Contest last week. A big thank you to John Wilson and Nathan Leishman for chairing and coordinating this years Area contests.

Bulbs watch continues at Penzance Park

Watch this space for flowers popping out all over Penzance Park!
Girls Who Code at Seven Hills
Girls Who Code program continues into the new year. The girls love our healthy snacks. Please signup with Nancy Kemp to serve as host and/or bring healthy snacks a week or more for Girls Who Code participants. If you haven’t done it before, Nancy has great instructions on what to serve. It is another incredible opportunity to become involved and participate with the youth in our community.
