Meeting Rescheduled
to Friday, December 9 for
Our Annual Christmas Party

  The Crown's Corner

Despite the fact that we haven't had a regular meeting for what seems like a long time, Nevada City Rotarians have had a busy month ... with more to come.

In case you missed it at the last meeting, your board voted not one, but two Rotarians of the Month for October. Pete Brost and Ellen Davis will both see $200 credited to their Rotary Foundation Account. Thanks to you both for your efforts!

On November 18th, many of you turned out at our special Party Hearty with Jimmi Accardi meeting to support Sierra Services for the Blind. Maybe we will have a final tally at today's meeting .... I expect that we raised a lot of money for this worthwhile service. Plus, most of us had a "swingin' good time".

Word has it that the Pokerettes are planning even more festivities at this year's Christmas Bash on December 9th, which will replace next week's meeting.

Last night, I attended the regular meting of your Radio Auction Committee. I would be hard pressed to tell you how impressed I am with this group. As you probably know, this is our major fundraiser. This year, 100% of the funds are going to our youth projects, tripling the money available for scholarships. These are the members that keep our club reaching new heights in our service to others. Try to remember to give them a pat on the back and a word of thanks for what they do.

Next week on Tuesday, December 6th, you will have a chance to show your support for the Rotarians in our club, led by Phil Ruble and the Pokerettes, for the Rotary Relief Project to New Orleans. Phil and Matt Weaver (a member of a lesser known Rotary club) will share their experiences at a special showing at Miners Foundry starting at 5:30 PM.

His Royal Highness,
fultzee

Christmas Party: This year's annual party will be held on Friday, December 9 at the Nevada City Oddfellows Hall. The Pokerettes are planning a wonderful event. The No Host Social Hour will start at 6:00, Dinner will start at 7:00, and the Band will begin at 8:00. Anyone who wants to bring children, feel free to do so. 12 and under will be half-price. Rather than a gift exchange, everyone attending is encouraged to bring a wrapped gift, which will be taken to the Manzanita House. The following gifts would be greatly appreciated there: toys, mittens, hats, etc. for kids (please mark age) or toiletries, towels, linens, etc. People who stay there temporarily get to take those household items with them when they go.
Attendence Report: For the month of October, we had a 91.63% attendence rate. Great job, everyone!
