  The Crown's Corner

Well ... as the pictures show, the Annual Christmas Bash was a great party. Following close on the heels of Party Hearty with Jimmy Acardi, our little club must be the most "Swingin' Club" in District 5190. Music by the band "Running for Cover" was loud , enthusiastic and had many members out on the dance floor much of the night.

A most excellent buffet dinner was provided by Richard Farrar of the Nevada City Bakery (this had to be the best salmon dinner I have had in a long time), while Bob Buhlis helped "bus" the dishes and kept the party moving.

This stellar event was planned and presented by our own Pokerettes. Again, this shows the men in our club why Rotary was so smart to induct women in 1985. I asked Bonnie Murphey for the names to thank and she provided the following: Ellen Davis, Stacie Hart, Nicole Oros, Cathy Wilcox-Barnes, Gayle Denney, JoAnne Conley, Nancy Kemp, Eleanor Kenitzer and Marty Dinwiddie. Bonnie will be fined for each member she forgot to mention.

Special kudos to George Rebane, who at the request of the Crown, made a quick trip home to pick up his camera and record the event.

His Royal Highness, Fultzee

  Club News

NC Business Person of the Year: Each year, our club along with the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce honors a business person in Nevada City who exemplifies the Four-Way Test. If you have any nominations for the Nevada City Business Person of the Year, please let David Kenitzer or Don Fultz know.
Lost & Found: A lost item was found at the Christmas Party -- one lens from an eyeglass. It seems Ed Townsend was swinging a little too hard!
Party Hearty: The numbers are in! About 200 people danced the night away at this year's event, which raised about $1,200 for Sierra Services for the Blind. That's about three times what we raised last year and about four times more in attendence. Thanks everyone for planning, helping, and/or attending. All of you made this a success!
