For The Holidays

Our beloved leader looking oh-so-thrilled to be attending the Party Hearty event.

It's hard to believe that 2005 is coming to a close and 2006 is only 10 days away. Oh, how time flies!

It's even harder to believe President Fultzee has already made it through his first 6 months of presidency ... and without anybody in the club lynching him for fining him/her too much! His Royal Highness is out of town helping his grandson race cars (or something like that!). So unfortunately for all of you, you are stuck with me as acting president for today's meeting. I'm hopeful that after today's meeting, the club will immediately petition for a recall election!

If you missed last week, we elected our Board of Directors for the Rotary Year 2006 - 2007. Here are the members of next year's board:

Instead of exchanging gifts this year, all members attending the Christmas Party were required to bring a gift to donate to families staying at the Manzanita House. We also collected some additional money for gifts during last week's meeting. If you have any extra gifts you would like to donate, please bring them to today's meeting. After today's meeting, all members are welcome to go with Ellen Davis to deliver these gifts.

• NC Business Person of the Year: Each year, our club along with the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce honors a business person in Nevada City who exemplifies the Four-Way Test. If you have any nominations for the Nevada City Business Person of the Year, please let David Kenitzer or Don Fultz know.
• Party Hearty: The numbers are in! About 200 people danced the night away at this year's event, which raised about $1,200 for Sierra Services for the Blind. That's about three times what we raised last year and about four times more in attendence. Thanks everyone for planning, helping, and/or attending. All of you made this a success!
