  The Crown's Corner

Today is one of the most important meetings of the year. Your Radio Auction Committee has been working hard for several months to make this year's auction the best yet. Each year, they refine the event to make our job easier and make the fundraiser more profitable for the club. If each of us will just invest the same time as the members of this
hard working committee did, we will set new records for our club.

Remember, the Board has pledged that every dollar raised this year will go toward our Youth activities, including our expanded scholarship fund. I don't want to take any of their thunder, but I must say that this year's committee has been a highlight of my Rotary Year.

As I mentioned last week, we are just a few percentage points behind the District Leaders in attendance. It is important that you report your makeups promptly to Bonnie Murphey so that we record them in the district reports.

Also, remember that attendance at the board meeting counts as a makeup, as does committee meetings. If all else fails, makeup online. Those who have done it find it educational. You can go online 24/7: www.RotaryEClubOne.org

While we are thinking about online, Kim, Gary and David are working to bring our roster up-to-date. Why don't you go to our website and check out your info? Also, some of the newer members may find that we need a photo for their spot. If you don't have one handy, maybe we can prevail on our official club photographer, George Rebane, to take one for you.

  Club News

Just a quick note to help you understand how we get kudo's from our Rotary District for having great attendance. Each month on the 18th, I report to the District (and our President) our attendance percentage of the previous month. I take the total number of meetings, total number of members, new members added, members dropped / resigned and finally your score on whether you were present, made-up, excused or missed all together. All of those facts makeup our percentage for the month.

Here's where you can help. Since you have two weeks before and two weeks after the missed meeting to makeup ... it's important to report it (remember the 4-Way Test) to Bonnie as soon as possible (usually by the next meeting will do). If you miss the last meeting of the month, you have until two weeks into the next month to makeup. But don't wait past the 18th to tell Bonnie. I may have calculated our attendance percentage by then. Just give Bonnie a call if you don't think you'll see her on-time. That will help us achieve a great attendance status and will help the club funds get fat due to Don's challenge of paying $100 fine everytime we got our _ _ _ _ together!

Sincerely Your Humble Secretary,
Kim Stewart
