The Crown's Corner

Sometimes it's the Rotarian toiling behind the scenes that makes our club so special.

I am asking "Kidd" Kenitzer to put a link in this message to the new Club Website that he has been putting together. Take a minute, click on www.ncrotary.org and see what the Kidd has been working on late into the evenings. It gives a good picture of what our club has been doing in the community and around the world. It has to be one of the best websites in the district.

I've asked our esteemed secretary, Kim Stewart, to share her most recent project at the club meeting. Kim has been putting together the club's Call for Recognition presentation for the district competition. This presentation features color pictures of the various projects we are submitting for district recognition this year. The extra hours she has spent on this project will certainly be rewarded at the District Conference this year. Our little club has always been one of the best clubs in the district. This year I hope we can bring home enough awards to prove it. And thanks to Kim, we have a good shot at it! Take a good look at Kim's work and you will see how much time and effort she has spent in our behalf.

Next week, you will see the handiwork of your auction committee and the fine newspaper circular they have all been working on. On Tuesday, they braved the snowstorms to put the final touches on the eight-page tabloid at The Union's office. Gary Gustafson and Jeff Wenzel worked with Stacy Drake and the rest of The Union staff to make last minute changes before publication. The tabloid will be printed next Monday and will appear in The Union on Tuesday. 2,000 extra copies will be available to members for distribution to the various donors. This would be an excellent way for you to thank those people who have supported the Radio Auction this year.

One of the secrets of building long term support from donors is to find ways to thank them at least six times in six different ways for their support. A good way to start would be to deliver copies of the newspaper to them, showing them their listing and the stories about where the Auction Dollars go.

See you at the Auction.
