LOST: Nevada City Rotary Club Bell. Height:
1'0" tall. Weight: 8 lbs. Skin Color: Bronze. Tattoo: Rotary
International Emblem. Last Seen: August 24 in the National Hotel.
Reward may be given if found completely in-tact.
How in the world am I going to raise more money for The Rotary
Foundation if my bell isn't at the meeting? Remember if my bell
is successfully stolen, I'll give $25 to TRF. If I catch you
in the process of stealing my bell, you're out $25. Therefore,
I'm going to "borrow" pP Ben Barretta's
idea and begin instituting Double the Fines in the No
Bell Zone.
I will be passing around a sign-up sheet for The Kellermann
Foundation Dinner, which is on Sunday, September
17. The five Area 4 Rotary Clubs will be providing
all 25 volunteers to help setup, server dinner,
and breakdown from 5pm until cleanup is completed. As a thank
you, the $100 dinner will be provided to the
volunteers free of charge!
This Saturday (September 9), a District
Membership Seminar is being held in our backyard -
The Nevada County Sierra College Campus. The
seminar will last from 10am until noon and
is being put on by Tim Ruffin, the District
Membership Chair. Newer members or anyone wishing to learn more
about Rotary's "bigger picture" are welcome to attend.
If you're interested in going, please let me know.
Lastly, I have been "peer pressured" into being a
driver at the Friendship 100, which benefits
the Friendship Club. Altogether, I am supposed
to raise $1,000 before Monday, September
18. If you or your business would like to sponsor me,
I will be posting the names and/or logos on my fire
retardant driving suit. And just like any racer, the
more money you donate, the bigger the logo!
In Service Above Self...
