Prez Kidd will be out of the area today, so this week's
meeting will be conducted by PE Nancy Kemp.
Hats off to our club for once again winning the Salvation
Army Bell Ringing award! In our contest with the Grass
Valley Rotary, we trounced them with more than twice the pot
total. Thanks to all those who rang the bell in the cold and
inclement weather and special thanks to George Rebane
and Phil Ruble for donating much more than
just their time bell ringing.
Our Radio Auction is now officially launched!
At last week’s meeting all members received their Sales
Packets which included pre-printed donation forms for those
who have garnered donations in the past. For those of you who
will be gathering donations for the first time, Eric
Trygg and Kent Kadera will assign
merchants to you in the next week. If you missed the meeting,
Eric will give you your Kit this week.
Donations are already starting to come in and the Data Entry
Team of Nancy Brost, Mary Ann Townsend,
Gayle Denney, Jo Anne Conley
and Stacy Hart will start their valuable work
this week! We have a club goal of $50,000 gross
donation value and know that we can reach that!
Our RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) student Xavi Marco
Estella visited our club last week. He will be going
to an inbound orientation in Tahoe City on January 21st followed
by two days of skiing and snowboarding at the Homewood Mountain
Resort. He is an ace soccer player with the most amazing footwork
but has never been skiing or snowboarding so we will be interested
to see how he does in the snow and hope he doesn’t ‘break
a leg’ since he is one of the stalwarts of his soccer
team at Samba Soccer.
