On Tuesday morning, I had the pleasure of
appearing with the other
Area 4 Presidents (
Bob
Breck, Charlie Litton, Rock Nolle, and John Paul) as well
as
DG Bob Dorr and
DG Nominee Wyn Spiller
in presenting
$10,000 to public access station
NCTV. The funds were achieved through a public
relations grant from RI as well as donations from all five Rotary
clubs. Some of the funds will be used to replace NCTV's 20-year
old equipment by purchasing new cameras, booms and mounts.
The money from RI's public relations grant will be used to
produce, air and webcast
a documentary highlighting the many community
and international projects sponsored by local Rotarians and
RI. As an Area, we are currently planning to create three 10-minute
segments, each focusing on a topic. If you would like to help
with the production of this documentary, please let me know.
No technical knowledge required!
For those of you that did not attend last week's meeting (shame,
shame), you definitely missed one of the most innovative
programs I've seen. Thanks to the hard work of Eleanor
Kenitzer and Cathy Wilcox-Barnes,
attendees competed in a Valentine's Day trivia
quiz (for prizes!), were forced to read famous (and
infamous) quotes, etc. But the low-light
of the afternoon certainly had to be the appearance of pP
Terry "Pebbles" Boyer. I was left
speechless. And if you see the picture in the Club News section,
I think you will be as well...
Only 30 Days Until The Radio Auction!
Radio Auction items are continuing to flow
in. As of last night, we have already collected 131
items worth more than $27,646. That's about
55% of this year's $50,000 goal.
Great job, folks! Let's keep 'em coming...
In Service Above Self,
President David "The Kidd" Kenitzer
