First of all, next week's meeting will be MOVED
to Saturday, March 24 at the Nevada
County Superintendent of Schools Office for the Radio
Auction.
Wow... it has been a hectic week for NC Rotarians!
At last week's meeting, we had the Club Music Contest.
This was the first year we had all of the musicians play the
same instrument (the piano). It was a stiff competition,
so I'm glad I wasn't judging. Congratulations to Marina
Sanford and Chris Edwards for taking
1st and 2nd places respectively. They will be representing our
club at the Area Music Contest, which will be taking place on
Sunday, March 25. And many thanks to Gayle
Denney for organizing not only the club contest, but
the area competition as well!
Only 9 Days Until The Radio Auction! I guess
my pleadings and challenges got through, since everyone heeded
the call. As of last night, we have collected 240
items worth more than $47,500! That's an increase
of more than $5,000 over last year's totals.
In the nine years we've put on the Radio Auction, we have never
brought in this much. Awesome job!
Although the special Radio Auction insert
won't be published until Monday's edition of The Union, I'm
told that it was printed yesterday and should be available for
a sneak peek at today's meeting. I have seen
earlier proofs, and I hope all of you will be as proud as I
am of the way it turned out. Muchas gracias go to pP
Fultzee who came out of retirement to work on this!
Speaking of work, the Board has been busy prepping the Call
for Recognition. This 30+ page packet is what is used
to judge club awards at the District Conference.
It needs to be submitted to the District by tomorrow, so I better
get back to work...
