At last week’s meeting Mike Colantuono
facilitated a discussion with club members about what types
of programs Rotarians were interested in having. And those at
the meeting drew program dates out of a hat. We are looking
forward to the programs that club members will bring forward.
If you were not able to make our meeting and would like to host
a program, please see Mike and we can arrange a date.
Our program for this week is Steve Eubanks
who will be discussing “The Angora Fire – Can It
Happen Here?” And while fire danger may seem remote now
that we have had a good rain, I’m sure Steve’s talk
will be informative for us.
Last week, we also had a visit from two of the officers from
our recently formed Rotaract club inviting
us to their charter night celebration – The Rotaract
Ball. It will be held October 21st,
Cocktails at 5:00, Dinner at 6:00 at the Nevada City Elks Lodge.
The cost is $30 per person and the dress is semi-formal attire
(tux’s not required). Please plan to attend this important
event; these fine young people are the future of Rotary –
let’s help them celebrate their club.
District Governor Vic Slaughter will be visiting
the clubs in our area in October and will be our speaker at
our meeting on October 25th. Vic is a great
speaker and likes to have fun so save this date on your calendars
too.
