This Week ~ Erin Lewis- Update on National Exchange Hotel reconstruction
The National Exchange Hotel and Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley recently changed ownership. Acme Hospitality is the newest owner and is moving ahead with restoration but with new plans. Erin Lewis, local spokesperson for the new owners, will be our guest speaker this week.
Join us on Thursday as Erin gives an update on challenges and progress of renovations as well as the company's vision for both hotels. Our Club has a long history at the National. It will be a special opportunity to learn more about what is being planned for the next phase of both of these very special iconic historical hotels.
Proposed new member Greg Geare
Our Board has approved Greg Geare for membership in Nevada City Rotary. Greg has been proposed by his sponsor Michael Young and has attended a number of Club meetings over the past few months. Talk about family. Michael and Greg are happy Grandfathers together since their son and daughter married. Then at Greg's first meeting he and Dennis Geare discovered their grandfathers are brothers. Professionallly, Greg is a retired social worker from Humboldt County focusing on child welfare.
Club members have one week from today to address considerations related to Greg's nomination.

Now the park needs some Spring Cleaning. Join us Saturday, April 27 for a few fun filled hours of sprucing up the park. It is always a special feeling doing good in Nevada County knowing that fellow Rotarians around the world are rolling up their sleeves in their own communities throughout the day. Bring rakes, clippers and other yard tools along with gloves and a water bottle!
Girls Who Code at Seven Hills
Girls Who Code program continues into the new year. The girls love our healthy snacks. Please signup with Nancy Kemp to serve as host and/or bring healthy snacks a week or more for Girls Who Code participants. If you haven’t done it before, Nancy has great instructions on what to serve. It is another incredible opportunity to become involved and participate with the youth in our community.
