Dear Rotarians and Friends,
August 7 - 11, 2019 10:am - Closing
Nevada County Fair!
Nevada County Fairgrounds
No regular Thursday meeting!
CALL FOR HELP!
We still need 1 -2 volunteers for Thursday 7 - Closing shift! Please contact Tom Ryan if you can fill in!
Reconfirm your scheduled shifts at 2019 Fair Schedule. Please remember, if you have a last minute conflict and cannot make your shift, you are responsible for finding a substitute for yourself.
We had a lot of fun at our PRE-FAIR FAMILY PICNIC! Thanks for all the great food and fun table decorations. Alex Macarty shared her life altering experience at RYLA last month. A powerful reminder of why we are Rotarians. Alex's mother Carol is volunteering in our booth this weekend for two shifts. Alex would have but she was already committed to work at Job's Daughters. Speaking of RYLA, RYLA participant and recent University graduate Megan Kennedy joined us with her family. Her mother Dana and sister Lindsey Kennedy will be working our booth again this year.
A special thanks especially to our friends, family and other Club Rotarians for jumping in with Nevada City Rotary members to slop up BBQ Pulled Pork and Shredded Chicken sandwiches to help us fund our projects and scholarships this year!
Our booth is now ready for Fair week. Tom R and Tom M rehung our freshly painted Nevada City Rotary signs. Our suppliers are delivering food, drinks and supplies! Cashiers have had refreshers and we are set to go!
Fair Ready after a Fun Pre-Fair Picnic!
See you at the Fair!

Rotary Rafters Eliminating Polio Raft Trip - South Fork of the American River
Each year all four clubs in Auburn, CA ride the rapids to rid polio and this year we are asking Area 4 if they would like to join in. What better way to start a Rotary year that is all about connecting, then working with two area’s and multiple clubs, connecting members and their passion. Sunday August 11, 2019, cost is $125 per person with $50 of that going to you and your Rotary Clubs foundation. All food and drinks are provided for and the fun, well that is a given. For details on the day and contact for registration, visit Rotary Rafters.
