Rotario August 8, 2018

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

It's Fair Week!

Wednesday - Sunday August 8-12, 2018

Bushels of Fun!

on Treat Street at the Nevada County Fairgrounds

Please click our Fair Schedule for your work times!!!  If you have a last minute conflict, we need you to be responsible to find a replacement for your shift!

We do need another shift captain for first half of Saturday. THANK YOU ALL!

After a jammed packed month of July filled with Nevada City Rotary activities it was a great start to August with a restful, fun fellowship gathering at our annual picnic at the fair grounds.  The potluck picnic was complete with some of the best potluck offerings I’ve ever had the pleasure to indulge in.  One thing is for certain we can cook.  It seems like we’re pretty good at eating too as it didn’t look like there was much left over to take home.  Something else we’re great at is fellowship and it seemed like a good time was had by all.

Special thanks to John Wilson for arranging for Garrecht Kitchens to bring his family along to the picnic and then serve as a very inspiring speaker by relating his experiences and impressions of his time at RYLA.

Continuing our tradition, Walt and Sandy decorated their table in the theme of this year’s fair, Bushels of Fun, as did Cathy and the Kennedy family.  Robin brought prizes for our decorated participants.

Now is the time to take a few deep breaths, get in some stretching and plenty of rest because with the end of the picnic everyone knows that this week is the all hands on deck Fair Booth blitz.  With just a few last minute details like loading our walk-in fridge with pork, chicken and coleslaw we are prepared for our marathon week.  It is truly gratifying to see all of the names on our work schedule and to know that we can get this done with all of your help and support.

And remind friends and family, we will be accepting cash, credit, debit and even ePay on your Apple or Android phones this year!

Nevada City on KNCO

I was joined by Michael and Robin at the studio of radio station KNCO on Friday and we did a ten minute interview highlighting Nevada City Rotary’s achievements along with a bit of history and goals. . Offered as a Nevada City Chamber of Commerce Business Spotlight

Nevada City Rotary Live on KNCO

Watch us on Facebook live!

I’ll keep this short so that’s all for now.  So go get some rest and I’ll see you at the fair.
