Nevada County Virtual Junior Livestock & Ag Mechanics this coming week!

As we move into what would have been Nevada County Fair week, take note, the Junior Livestock and Ag Mechanics Auction will go on. The Junior Livestock and related ag programs are at the heart of our Nevada County Fair.

For those who joined us on our Zoom social last night, we were impressed and inspired by Lindsey Alling, 4-H member (who also is part of Girls Who Code) along with her mother Katie Alling who shared plans for the Nevada County Junior Livestock and Ag Mechanic Auctions as they move online this year.

Lindsey and fellow 4-H (and FFA) members dedicate much of the year raising animals of all sizes from rabbits, chickens and turkeys, to goats, lambs, pigs and steer with a focus on the fair. The annual fair is the gala culmination of their year where they bring their prized animals to show and market. Proceeds provide funds for college/technical education, extracurricular activities and other life enrichment programs for our youth.

Want to bid for yourself (or with a group of friends) or make a "bump" donation to support one or more of our youth ag leadership during the upcoming auction?

Register in advance at 2020 Online Junior Livestock and Ag Mechanics Auction on the NevadaCountyFairgrounds.com website then follow the auction next week!

Best to all,

Prez Tom
