The Apollo Moon Project: Things You Probably Don’t Know
Zoom Lunch Meeting with Bob Murley
Bob Murley was working at Douglas Aircraft Company during the lead up to the first Saturn V launches. Saturn V was an American human-rated super heavy-lift launch vehicle used by NASA between 1967 and 1973. The three-stage liquid-propellant expendable rocket was developed to support the Apollo program for human exploration of the Moon and was later used to launch Skylab, the first American space station.(Wikipedia, Saturn V.) Douglas Aircraft built the S-IVB third stage rockets that which blasted the Apollo astronauts to the moon.
Bob will share a unique insider's view on ”The Apollo Moon Project: Things You Probably Don’t Know”.

What you may not know about Bob:
I graduated from Drexel University in 1967 as a math major. There were no computer science majors back then, but my career started out in computer science and remained there for life.
My first job out of college was with Douglas Aircraft who had the contract from NASA for the third stage of the Saturn V rocket. This was just 5 months before the first unmanned launch of the Saturn V occurred. I was always interested in the idea of space travel, and considered my self very lucky to be able to start my career in the Apollo Program.
During my professional life I worked for IBM, Raytheon, Sony, and a number of smaller companies, and finished my career as an employee and consultant at Apple.
Along the way I’ve done private piloting, skydiving, tennis, and a dismal attempt at golf, among other things. I have two children and three grandchildren.
I married Carolyn in the year 2000, a great start to the new millennium. I now look forward to a delightful retirement with her.
Check your email for a private Zoom meeting invitation from Saturday night. We will also resend those instructions on Wednesday (tomorrow). If you don't have the Zoom instructions for this week, simply reply to this Rotario email.
I’m hoping we can have more members login or call in to the meeting. In the meantime, send those book titles in, accept PE Tom’s challenge and Make a gift to The Rotary Foundation's Disaster Response Fund in response to COVID-19 and stay safe, sane and well.
