World Polio Day 2020 ~ Saturday October 24
Without doubt, the most notable achievement of Rotary is the dedicated and very successful campaign to eradicate Polio by making sure every child across the globe receives inoculations to prevent Polio. Every Rotarian can participate in the campaign at the simplest level by making financial contributions to Polio Plus, or for those Rotarians willing to make a greater contribution, there are numerous ways to participate.
On October 24, Rotary International celebrates World Polio Day 2020 as a way of acknowledging all the work that has been done to bring the world so close to the elimination of Polio:
The World Polio Day 2020 Global Update theme is “A win against polio is a win for global health.” The program will provide a status update on Rotary and our partners’ polio eradication efforts, and will also focus on how investment in polio eradication is critical for other global health initiatives, such as the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each year, our Nevada City Rotary Club has observed World Polio Day with an activity such as a Polio Walk to raise public awareness that Polio is still active in a few parts of the world and that Rotary continues the campaign to eliminate Polio once and for all.
This year, with the challenges of limited gatherings and maintaining social distancing, we have not yet decided how we can continue our tradition of observing this special day. But rest assured, we are determined to come up with a great way to celebrate World Polio Day and to have some fun in the process!
Mason Jar Meals To Go ~ Let's Eat!
Our program for this week is Shannon Byrd from “Mason Jar Meals To Go”. I have not yet had the opportunity to sample their offerings and will correct that oversight very soon. I do know that others in the club are happy customers. In her new business Shannon offers "Fast, Easy, Convenient Homestyle meals ready to heat-and-eat or just eat delivered to your door weekly."
"I am looking to provide healthy, easy, and affordable mason jar fresh meals, desserts, snacks & fresh drinks. Mix & match 10 jars for $50, or well priced individual meals. Available for home delivery or store pickup. Let's eat!"
Join us to hear her story and learn how you can enjoy easy, convenient Mason Jar Meals To Go! Curions? Check out her variety of healthy delicious foods! At the bottom of each screen continue with Load More until there is no More to Load! This one is making me hungry just thinking about it!

Oh Susie, we continue to just swoon over the amount of support we received from your group. What an amazing display of community service your team provided to the local health department and county at large. We couldn’t possibly thank you enough. You were a delight to work with and we truly look forward to more possibilities of partnership.
Please send our many thanks again to your club and all the folks who donated their time that day and the mask warriors too!
We so appreciate you!
