This Week
Dan Miller has a long history of serving our community: He is currently Mayor of Grass Valley, has served as President of the Trustees for Nevada Joint Union High School District, Sierra College Foundation and the Economic Resource Council.

Last Week
Teresa Berliner Mann of J.J.Jackson's was our guest at last week's mixer. Teresa was passonate about her store and her role to carry on a tradition of the the store's history. The club's annual Vocational Award was presented to Gary Gustafson who received a plaque with acknowledgements for contributions to the club.

Foundation Report
In the last month, 32 club members donated a total of $751 to The Rotary Foundation.

Nevada City was well represented at District Assembly by Carolyn Feuille, Dennis Geare, Robin Milam, Walt Stickel, Dave Bunje, and Bob Buhlis.

The Area Speech and Music Contests, Nevada City’s contestants are the winners!  Joe Fenner with represent our Area in the District Speech Contest and George Daly, pianist, won first in the Area Music Contest.  Thank you Cathy Wilcox-Barnes for coordinating the Music Contest for our Club! Thank Dave Bunje for coordinating our Club and Area Speech Contests.   Great job to both of you!  

Area Music was Sunday April 6 and the extraordinarily talented winners are:

2.      Brandon Stubbs - 2nd Place   trumpet
3.      Robin Daly - 3rd Place   clarinet

2014 District 5190 Conference is next month. It’s going to be fun, inspirational, and full of action.
