Nevada City Rotary International Service Project in Baja ~
April 25-26
PP John Hensley is organizing a local school repair work project in Los Cabos, Mexico:
Phase 1 – NC club members are needed for a two day work project in Los Cabos, Mexico. Dates of work project are April 25-26. Work would entail painting and repair work on local schools impacted by recent hurricanes. We are partnering with Los Barriles Rotary Club.

Airfare to the Los Cabos International Airport is about $379 round trip per person. John is coordinating hotel arrangements. Members of the Los Barriles Rotary Club (45 miles north of the San Jose airport) will help provide transportation from the Los Cabos Airport. Some Rotarians might want to rent cars so they can explore before or after the work project.
NC Rotarians will be donating their airfare and hotel expenses; our club will pay for paint, brushes and other repair materials.
Phase 2 – After our work project this May we will be partnering with the Los Barriles Rotary Club to submit a grant request to our District for funds to provide more extensive upgrading of these schools. Grant amount will be determined after the May trip.

Mystery Rotarian ~ from Cathy Wilcox-Barnes, Club Services
Last week proved to be an easier one for once! Dennis Geare guessed Carolyn Feuille right after the Rotario landed in his email. The Club has been doing the Mystery Rotarian for a couple of months now so that means it should start becoming easier to figure out the Mystery Rotarian each week. Let’s see if I can stump you this week with this talented member. By the way, has anyone come up to you and asked where you were born before they even say “hello?” Happened to me – but that’s an easy one. How many other Club members were born in Nevada City? Are you asking questions or sharing tidbits about yourself? Follow the clues to see if you can figure out who it is. The Mystery Rotarian will help you become better acquainted with your fellow Rotary Members.
The first person to reveal the Mystery Rotarian to President Robin, (before the answer appears) wins a free raffle ticket. Keep following the Mystery Rotarian and find out more about the people you with whom you spend your Thursdays. Ask questions as you converse each week. As we get to know hidden sides of our members we should get to know each other better.
This week's Mystery Rotarian:
-
This Rotarian was born in Hayward, California
-
This Rotarian grew up in Loomis, California
-
This Rotarian played Bass guitar in a little rock band.
-
This Rotarian started their own company in 1990.
-
This Rotarian was sponsored by a Rotarian with an initial “B.”
For whom the bell tolls ...
A second letter was delivered anonymou sly to the National Hotel in advance of our Club meeting on Thursday. Our precious bell is clearly being held for ransom by unscrupulous bell snatchers and is ringing to get home!
Honoring the warning, we dare not call the Police ...
Help President Robin
save our BELL soon!!!
