This Week’s Meeting
1st Thursday Merchant Mixer with Stuie Weills of Grey Goose

Quote of the Week
"Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them." ~ Jack Canfield

This Week
The Grey Goose is the most fun stores on Broad Street!  Stuie Weills has been a Nevada City Merchant for over 30 years and is sure to delight us at our Merchant Mixer with her humor and history!

Next Week
One Stop Business & Career Center
Presented by Shavati Karki-Pearl, Business & Career Center Manager One-Stop Business & Career Center is part of a nation-wide system that provides job search and career development services through a trained staff and a welcoming career center. The Center's mission is to provide unlimited employment opportunities to job seekers and hiring managers as well as training and human resource assistance to local businesses. As such, the Center keeps a pulse on the economic wellbeing of our community and local opportunities.

Adventures & Wine Auction - September 19
Adventures & Wine Auction is September 19. Always a special night, this year's Adventures & Wine Gala will open at 5:30pm with music by Dream and the Dreamer! We will have tickets at Thursday's evening mixer meeting.

We are coming down the home stretch and need your active support! We are asking all members to sell 10 tickets and arrange for at least one donation. Talk with PP Carolyn Inglis or Judy Soldavini if you need assistance.

Donations received to date are posted at 2014 Donations Received. Please check report for the status of your donation. If the status is "unknown" please followup with your merchant to arrange for pick up. Contact Carolyn Inglis if you have a question or data issue. Note: the cutoff date for Donations is September 10.

As with our Fair Booth, the Adventures & Wine Auction requires full support of our Club.  All members are to serve on an active action team. Day of activities are especially important. If you have not signed up for a role day of, please review the signup sheet and contact Carolyn to indicate your assignment preference.

Gary has 2013 donor lists for members to follow up with your contacts regarding potential donations for this year.  Visit our Club site for last year's donor list  posted by member.

Last Week
Scott Murray, VP Switchers and Routers for Grass Valley, once known as "the Group" gave an engaging and informative overview of company's rich past and global expansion to a $2.5 billion company. Founded in 1959, Grass Valley has been an innovator spawning numerous local technology companies and is an economic anchor for our community. Scott shared his vision to attract a university to Western Nevada County that would expand the qualified labor pool and attract more electronic industry investment.

RYLA Thank Yous!
In July we were treated to Emily Gollup's inspiring personal recounting of how life altering and special her week at RYLA was this summer.  This week we received very heart warming letters from Chase Frey and Faith Robichaud thanking our Club for making RYLA possible for them.  "What seemed like a year at camp, can never be measured...It has been an experience that will make colossal waves on my life...Words can not describe how greatful I am for this opportunity." "I can not emphasize enough how amazing of a thing you all have done form me and each other student...It is a life changing gift that I wouldn't give away for anything." All three students remind us of why we run our Fair booth and host our Adventures & Wine Auction!

Rotary Youth Exchange opportunity for host families
Our Rotary Area 4 has 3 applicants for the 2015-16 District 5190 Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange class.  That means our Area has the opportunity to host 3 Inbound visiting students. Grass Valley has already accepted one student.  If you have an interest in hosting an exchange student in your home for 4 to 6 months, please contact Robin!  If you are prepared to open your home to a student, it can be an extraordinary experience. See www.rye5190.org for more information.
