World Polio Day Oct 9 and Oct 24

World Polio Day - Area 4 Plans

Friday, October 24
Our Area 4 Clubs are planning to have an area wide celebration at 5:30pm on October 24 at Union Square 151 Mill Street in Grass Valley.  (New home for Nevada County South Rotary).
During the day, Clubs are being challenged to host a fundraising action in our home communities.  The actions can be as simple as a Give Polio the Boot collection on Broad Street at a specific time during that day.  The individual Club plans will be published in the Union.  Our specific Club plans are to be determined...we will discuss at our Club Social on Thursday night.
Area 4 Photo Shoot - 5:30pm Thursday October 9
A group photo of local Rotarians with their fingers pinched to show how close we are to ending polio will be taken at 5:30pm on Thursday October 9.  Please join us at Litton Field which is at the end of Litton Drive above Briar Patch next to the Litton building.

Mystery Rotarian ~ from Cathy Wilcox-Barnes, Club Services
Each Thursday we sit around the tables in the National Hotel dining room with fellow Rotarians. But, how well do we really get to know each other? A new feature will debut in the Rotario this week; little known facts leading to the identity of the Mystery Rotarian for the week. The answer will appear in the following week’s Rotario.

However, the first person to reveal the Mystery Rotarian to President Robin, (before the answer appears) will win a free raffle ticket. Follow up with the Mystery Rotarian and find out more. Ask questions at your table each week to give you insight into our “hidden” sides. As we get to know hidden sides of our members we should get to know each other better.

This week's Mystery Rotarian:

  1. I was conceived in Lake Tahoe
  2. I spent my formative years in Lake Tahoe
  3. I met my future spouse in Lake Tahoe
  4. I was sponsored by former club member E.T.
